The following notes were taken from the Documentary: Prophecies Fulfilled, October 14, 2007

Edgar Cayce, a modern day prophet, foretold of Black Tuesday months before the stock market crash occurred.  ”We may expect a considerable break and bear market, see?  This issue being between those of the reserves of nations and individuals will cause…a great disturbance in financial circles.” At the age of 4, Edgar witnessed the death of his grandfather and years later he had an angelic vision.  He was asked what he wanted from his life, to which he responded he wanted to ease suffering and help others.  He predicted a World War in 1936  ”This will make for the taking of sides by various governments.  This will be indicated by the Austrians, Germans and later the Japanese…unseen and gradually growing to those affairs where there must become almost a direct opposition to that which has been the theme of the Nazis.”  Cayce devoted his life to foretelling the future and established the Association for Research and Enlightenment. 

James Randy has devoted his life to debunking false prophets and prophecies, pointing out the vagueness and riddle-like language that leaves room for interpretation.

Prophecy demands imagination and usually the imaginings are dark and bleak. 

Nostradamus was a prophet of doom, an astronomer and physician. Afraid of religious backlash, he wrote his predictions in riddles and one such riddle was noticed by the King and Queen of France. “The young lion will overcome the older one on the field of battle.  He will pierce his eyes through a golden cage.  Two wounds  made one.  Then he dies a cruel death.”  Henry II was injured in a jousting match and he died a slow, painful death, and Nostradamus became a target for blame. With the Queen’s protection, Nostradamus predicted three Anti Christ and doomsday prediction for 1999.  Many believe his verses are puzzles to be solved.

Elizabeth Clair Prophet, received her first vision in childhood.  She was playing in a sandbox at the age of 4 and she was transported to the white sands on the Nile River.  She warned of dark karma and advocated positive, loving attitudes to combat the forces of darkness. She receives messages from ascended masters, including Jesus, Buddha, and Mohammad.   

Isaiah, the King of all Prophets, claimed God spoke to him and warned Judah of ignoring God or they would be taken into captivity in the land of Babylon. He prophesized the birth of child, a shepherd who would one day lead his flock to a new land, which many believe told of the coming of Christ.  Isaiah predicted the twelve tribes of Israel would be reunited in their home land. The Jews of Ethiopia considered themselves the lost tribe of Israel, with a dream of returning home.   Prophecies may provide the inspiration to pursue a dream but just like any dream, it took hard work and willingness to take a risk to make it come true.
