Yesterday was go day. I did get chapter 1 done, but it’s only 1400 words. That’s not going to cut it. To complete 50K words by the end of the month, I have to write 1500 words each day. Based on my outline, with 20 chapters, each chapter needs to be 2500 words. I’m especially concerned because this weekend I’m going to Vegas for 4 days. I’m not planning on taking my laptop, so that’s 6000 extra words to squeeze in. The best way I’ve found to get the words on the page is to take time to tell the story, rather than rushing through the major plot points. There’s plenty of room to add details - I just need a little distance to see the gaps before I can fill them in.
